#most of my reasoning behind crossover shipping

I'm into crossovers, so of course I often wonder about the BatFam as a pirate crew in the One Piece universe and which position in the crew each one would be

Jason is the shooter ofc and Dami is the swordsman. Bruce would be the captain for obvious reasons. Dick could be the vice-captain I guess?? And I keep wondering what the other's positions would be in the crew.

I know absolutely nothing about One Piece but I can definitely get behind a pirate au

If we're talking average ship roles:

Bruce: captain

Dick: first mate

Jason: gunner/master-at-arms

Cass: quatermaster

Tim: boatswain

Steph: rigger

Duke: coxwain

Damian: mate (basically an apprentice to the boatswain and gunner)

Maps: navigator/cartographer

Alfred: cook/doctor (usually a combined role on pirate ships)

Wasn't really sure what to give Steph and Duke but I think Steph would eagerly take one of the most dangerous jobs and Duke, having been a leader in We Are Robin, would be trusted to steer and lead the crew where they should be (idk it logic'd in my head)

today, i found out about b1gc4lgut.

some would be tempted to take this as a sob story about the dangers of online communities, and see the world as a darker place for having encountered this person. but i find something inspiring in the story of b1gc4l and how they were run off.

looking at their behavior… the squid sisters incest part didn't really surprise me, but how can you be homophobic and a splatoon fan? how does that work? literally everyone in the game has ✨queer energy✨, thats like a huge part of the reason why it's a unique game in the first place (other parts including the unique gameplay and the heavy social commentary of the story, both of which are celebrations of queerness and also neurodiversity in their own ways)

like, if you look at their blog, they say bye to the splatoon fandom and bigcal is canon. you'd think they got driven out for shipping bigcal, but… no, you got driven out for spamming people asks with an image of callie and marie kissing, making homophobic comments, and making a new account to harass people who previously blocked you. sit DOWN.

now, there are many bad things that can be said about the splatoon fandom, most of which are not unique to splatoon. but what really got bigcal laughed out of the community is not some great failing of the internet – it's a great success story of the splatoon fandom; one trait we have in spades, moreso than any other community i've ever been a part of.

in the splatoon fandom,

we look out for our own.

if you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us. if you act like a child and harass people, then we're all going to come together and block you until you can't get away with it anymore. if you make an alt account, we'll call you out on it and ID you, and we'll make sure that all our mutuals hear about it before you can get to them.

it's not just a tumblr thing, either. on a discord server i'm in – a crossover server, in fact; not even a splatoon server – a new person joined in recent memory who had a callie pfp. i recognized it as splatoon and got a little excited – it's a fellow splatoon fan! so, i approached them, but… they didn't really react how i expected.

they acted a bit strange – they barely acknowledged me, which is weird, since splatoon fans in my experience are generally excited to see each other in the wild. another person in the server, a fellow splatoon fan, thought the same thing… and also noticed the new person seemed rather familiar, even though the account wasn't one he'd seen before.

so, he asked them if they knew each other. all of a sudden, they got super evasive and suspicious, then suddenly went offline. not a good look!

that other long-time member and i had only really had one conversation before, where i chatted with them about splatoon lore. we barely knew each other. but, when it became clear the new guy was hiding something, that other person DMed me and asked what i thought. i told him, truthfully, that i didn't recognize the new person at all, but i had a real bad gut feeling about them.

in minutes, we'd gotten in contact with a team of at least 10 other splatoon fans we knew, and all of us worked together to figure out what was up with this person based on publicly available information. the discord account on which they joined was just weeks old, and no one recognized it; it linked to a social media account, probably just to get past account verification, which was made the same day as the discord account and had zero activity.

it rapidly became clear that this was a very high-effort throwaway, created by someone who really didn't want us to know who they were, painstakingly crafted to dodge even the strictest verification algorithms while giving no information about the person behind the screen.

as it turns out, the person we were so suspicious of was a highly dangerous individual who had previously been banned from the server multiple times on multiple different accounts. this was just their latest, and most subtle, attempt to worm their way back into the server.

and they might have gotten away with it, too, if only they hadn't made one crucial mistake: they used a splatoon pfp without talking the talk, and that got the actual splatoon fans' attention.

i've never been prouder to say: don't fuck with the splatoon community. if you do, a plague upon thy house, woe upon thy relations, and shame upon thee. all hope abandon, ye who enter here; look upon our works, ye mighty, and despair.

So, this all started when we found a dead body in the Lab��

Hello, I guess? I don’t know what I’m doing, but here I am, telling you about the Danganronpa x Homestuck AU crossover.

I’m developing this project (?) with [ @happy6machine , @julia-bunncat ] and with the help of some other cool guys as a support team. Lots of headcanon material has accumulated, and progress in the development of the au has simply... stalled, and I thought I’d try to share it >_< because I haven’t seen anyone else doing something like this so extensively!

I’ll start with V3 (my current fandom fixation) and castes, I guess!! The choice for some characters was pretty obvious and straightforward (ex: olive cast for Ryoma and Tenko, purple for Kokichi, indigo for Gonta and etc.), others were more unusual options (violet for Kaito, whaat?), but I swear I have an explanation behind them :Ъ

But first, I’d like to make a small remark: We hadn’t set a specific lore for the whole thing. Sometimes we experimented with transforming characters into trolls during gameplay to see how it would work, leaving the game plot, killings, interactions and so on untouched. Other times, we made up certain plot snippets and events as if they all lived on Alternia. Occasionally, we’ve stayed in the session area (which we’ll discuss further), prescribing classpects, castes, quadrants, and so forth—all these options were considered.

Now back to the castes, let's go in order:

• Himiko is the weakest, slowest, and laziest member of the V3 cast. She isn't very bright, or at least she's too caught up in fantasies. She's also, well, red. I didn't see the point in making up something special for her, so I just put her in the rust caste. It also makes the dynamic between her and some of the other characters very intriguing, which I'll discuss later. Her desire to perform tricks can be interpreted as 'service/entertainment for the people', literally a jester for the public, which suits the lower castes. But what are the tricks? Well, rust and psychic powers, right? :D So Himiko has psychic powers, though not very powerful ones... And still calls it magic, of course.

• Kaede was a… difficult case. OK, my excuse: I wanted to include a representative of every caste (except Fuchsia) at least once, and Kaede got caught in the hot seat. But she's bronze for more than just that reason!  There's a joke that I'll tell you about some other time, because I want to hold its punch for a while. As it is, we're hooked on the scene in the first chapter where Kaede immediately falls on her knees in front of Miu (instinct of subordination??). Also, the music is associated with birds, and all animals are associated with the bronze caste. Of course, Kaede is extremely... feisty and enthusiastic for such a caste, but luckily she has many highblood friends—including Kaito, who stood up for her in-game, and if they were trolls, it would work perfectly ;)

• /heavy sigh/ Keebo.

I originally drew this art [link] when my friends and I were just starting to get through V3, and I just liked the sort of black dynamic between the three of them. I didn't think much about the castes at the time, but ironically they haven't changed.

There are some problems with Keebo, because he's obviously a robot, and I want to keep him as a robot in this AU. The most realistic option is that Keebo is a prototype for a new kind of drone to be used on spaceships. After all, he is an advanced AI imitating a troll, so it makes sense to give him some blood color. Gold blood is often associated with the "trolls are used as batteries on ships” theme, and Keebo was literally created to maintain ships. It's... a bit of a stretch, really, but that's all we have for now. I think the lore will be expanded upon in the future.

• Korekiyo. Giving him gold blood was sort of a joke at first, playing on the fact that Korekiyo, like Sollux, has a point that grants him duality—his sister. However, as we fleshed out the lore, the choice felt increasingly fitting. I'll be writing separate posts, probably more than one, to outline his lore because, folks, this is FIRE. I never particularly liked Kork in the game, but now- hell, I LOVE him. Have pity on the poor boi; he's suffered a lot.

• Ryoma and Tenko. Since they both get the olive caste on the same principle, I will combine them. Guys, It's literally a catboy and a catgirl; what other questions could there be?

Okay, technically, Tenko also receives olive blood because she is combative and strong, which are characteristics of this caste. She generally looks like a cat herself ([EN] we’re referring to her fangs and headband with ears in the beta design, her collar with the bell and some of her facial expressions on the sprites), and her temper matches her caste. I'm not sure how to adapt her hatred of men to Homestuck... yet. Maybe she'll hate highbloods instead? That's something to think about.

Ryoma, for his part, with his whole cat theme (his Lusus is a cat, of course), the resemblance of cat ears on his hat, and his tendency to stare into space—he's a good fit too. And despite his small size, he is quite strong.

• Maki. And that's where the problems and doubts begin to unfold. We were deciding whether to make her olive or maybe jade, given her backstory. After all, she disguises herself as a caretaker in canon, and you wouldn't expect a girl from an orphanage to turn out to be a professional assassin. On the other hand, you might expect that from an olive caste troll. Actually, there are indeed olive assassins. But several factors convinced me to give her this particular caste:

- Maki herself is like a wild cat. Her killer stare, mouth shape, quick reactions, strength, agility, grace.

- raising jade trolls as ''assassins'' sounds not only ideologically dubious (after all, the jade caste has a special place in troll society), but also illogical. Jade's killing instinct is probably suppressed, otherwise there would be complete bloodbath in the brooding caves, they wouldn't get along with each other, they wouldn't be able to take care of wigglers.

- yeah, we've sort of canonised Maki being raised by a group of trolls to be an assassin. And raising an olive for that purpose is a perfectly reasonable idea, given their natural abilities.

- the idea for the jade caste came from the fact that children are attracted to Maki. However, Maki gets surprised by this fact every time. She calls it silly, paradoxical, and strange. Well, it wouldn't be strange at all if wigglers were attracted to a jade blood troll; that's natural. But the fact that they are attracted to an olive one should come as a surprise, even to Maki herself.

• Kirumi. Wasn’t overthinking it. The caste is given to her at the same time because of the method of exclusion (others don't really fit) and because of her calmness, composure, and desire to care for others. Kirumi can also be very, very dangerous, just like the jades in canon ;)

• Rantaro. Anybody ordered male jade? I love them personally, despite knowing they're very rare. Well, that choice is pretty obvious: Rantaro is filled with the desire to care for and protect his younger siblings. Where else could he end up but in the jade caste? He's also just a handsome guy with the cutest face, and he's GREEN, dammit! I made my choice immediately. And there's already a story about him! It's small, but we're definitely going to expand it.

• Shuichi. Do I have to explain anything??? Well, in case someone doesn't know, teal caste and detective work are two sides of the same (hee hee) coin, there was simply no other way.

• Angie. Blue caste. Uuuh, yeah, the elimination method again, I suppose? At first, I considered gold blood to maintain the original palette, but Angie has a blue caste psycho vibe to me. Damn, she's brainwashed half the class at some point! What else could it be but minor mind control? Also, Angie is quite bossy, feels at ease, and has the markings of a dominant personality (oh, the Love Hotel scene...). Blue caste suits her.

• Tsumugi. So, okay, given all her statements about her being "plain" and "nonexistent," it would seem that she should have been given low blood. But listen to this: she BULLIES MIU!

...okay, this might not be entirely obvious, but Tsumugi often makes all sorts of sarcastic comments about the other characters, most of which you can only notice if you replay V3 with knowledge of the plot. Her tweaks towards Miu are more noticeable, though, and considering that Miu herself is an indigo blood, it goes down well. Tsumugi is high-blooded enough to tease the indigo troll, saying things like, "Hey, why is it that as soon as someone starts talking back to you, you immediately turn into such a wimp?" She's also high-blooded enough to ignore Kaede when she tries to talk to her at the beginning of the game. Her blue caste might be the reason the killing game worked out at all, considering how many mistakes Tsumugi made. Who knows, maybe she also created Flashback Lights with her psychic powers...

And... eh. I confess. I wanted to keep her in blue colors, in addition to all the above reasons, so I didn't really consider any other castes.

• Miu. Indigo caste, wow! Well, considering her behavior and the fact that no one had ever punched her through the entire game, it’s CLEARLY obvious. Only a high-blooded troll, a really high-blooded troll, could afford to be so rude to those much lower down. The funny thing is that she targeted low and mid-bloods more often: Kaede, Shuichi, sometimes Himiko, Korekiyo, and Keebo. She didn’t bother, or almost didn’t, with Gonta, Kaito, and even COOPERATED with Kokichi—as if she had to, as if she were afraid of crossing the paths of those above her in caste. Also, Miu said she liked it when Kaede and Shuichi knelt before her...

You might ask—why not purple caste? Still, Miu’s strange behavior is a bit like that of a purple-blooded schizo, isn't it? Well... Firstly, there's nothing to suggest that Miu belongs to this weird purple cult. Secondly, Miu’s odd behavior when someone insults her gives us an interesting, almost Equius-like, God forgive me, “I'm superior to you, but I want to obey; it's SO WRONG but so arousing” conflict.

• Gonta. There was no reason to even try. I did have a stray thought, due to Gonta's nature and his connection to bugs, to place him in the bronze caste, but...no. Given his immense power and his lack of insanity like that of the purple-blooded trolls, you can't put him anywhere other than the indigo caste. Plus, he's from a noble family himself. And this ALSO creates a cool dynamic and adds interesting lore aspects to Homestuck!Gonta that I like VERY much and will definitely cover in other posts!!!!

• Kokichi. Oooh reeeally, who'd have thought? Of course he's purple-blooded! It's not that simple, though. Kokichi is definitely not a crazy purple cultist like most members of the purple caste. We are going to be talking about that separately, and believe me, I will give this guy a lot of lore, because I freaking love him. There isn't much else to say–no other blood color suits him better.

• AND HERE WE ARE: VIOLET-BLOODED KAITO, WAT???? Okay, let me explain!

1. I have a headcanon that violet-bloods are not as obsessed with the hemospectrum as land trolls. This is due to the fact that they are mostly isolated, living in the sea. In that environment, there are only fuchsia caste above them, and no one below them Occasionally, rare purple-bloods get caught on the shores, but EVEN then, their status isn't significantly lower. They don't live in a society where lower-bloods are constantly stigmatized and killed for no reason. They simply don't have any possibilities to "grow" those oppressive, rigid attitudes. Eridan shows this well: no matter how much he talks about hating land dwellers, he always interacts with other trolls on almost equal footing—for example, by hitting on everyone and asking Karkat for advice.

2. Kaito has strong leadership skills and a desire to guide, mentor, and support others. He stands up for Kaede, takes Shuichi under his wing, and protects Maki. This demonstrates the attitude of a strong leader willing to take responsibility. It seems very reasonable for an intelligent, thoughtful violet who knows that he is in a position of authority and must be relied upon. He can't afford to appear weak. No wonder he hasn't told anyone about his illness...

3. He conquered the sea... AND CAME TO LAND!!! All these stories about Kaito in Homestuck could become TRUE if he really is a troll with access to EVERYTHING. Fight a pirate king? Hell yeah! And he WANTS to go into space! Maybe not to enslave worlds, but to get off the planet and pilot a ship—why not? He has nothing to fear, unlike many other trolls, as he'd literally be in charge, with only the Empress above him. But back to his travels: tired of his life at sea, Kaito could just go and explore the land, and nothing can stop him. No other troll but a sea troll could afford to do that (although land trolls shouldn't go to sea).

4. Kaito is daring. And combative. He is pretty much the only one in the class who has no problem expressing his displeasure to Kokichi (a purple blood!) regularly and hitting him. Kaito is generally capable of aggression (I shudder to think how Shuichi must have felt when he was punched—minus another protagonist?) and emotion, which is also characteristic of the highblood. Even when he tries to stop Kokichi at the end, he's probably the only one who can do so after Gonta and Miu was killed.

5. COLOUR SCHEME. Let's just leave him with a beautiful violet. Especially as a highblood, he has every right to dress up. Even a star coat :з

it was only a matter of time, before i would have made another crossover with those two. i can't deny, that they are very 1:1 for me, when it comes to comics supervillains. so why not to mix one awesome n' beloved thing with another? esp since funny enough, they do have quite a few similar plot-points. well, the halloween themed costume aside. i mean it goes as far as jack once having the bat-themed boyfriend pal, which reminds me of someone else, i know.

anyho'...

i've tried to make my notes more or less readable here, but they still might be a bit scattered. i attempted to keep them as short as possible, but i just cannot talk 'small'.

1. the first art is low-key based on underdeveloped AU, that i have about the early comic scarecrow n' modern jack meeting n' hitting it off serial killiar style. considering, that both of them possess killing methods, which have a noticable tradmark to it, i imagine that they will leave one hell of a mess behind, while traveling across the country. in that timeline, batman is dead. n' jack's shitty foster dad was killed off earlier on. neither of them knows what to do with themselves, since the people who they had *twisted* emotional conection with are gone. without any direction, they meet in the middle, n' decide that they can as well team-up n' try to make being a villain fun again. jon might experiment on their victims *or torture them if its his ex bullies* n' then give them to jack, who would scoop their brains out and put candle inside their skull. n' uh yeah, he literally did it in the comic. i was honestly surpised that marvel come up with smth that creepy. it really sounds more alined with dc, if anything. but either way, here they are. two *grieving* psychos going downtown. they will make one another so much worse, i imagine. n' they will totally kill that npc dude btw.

2. dark magic n' the drip. or jon n' jack at their corniest. like, jonathan looks like he watched too much the nightmare before christmas n' jack dress up like count dracula for no reason. it's so random-ish n' cheesy. but with this being said, i love both of those designs, n' think, that they really suit the vibe of comic issues in which they were featured. jack always came off as a he-witch to me, but it was nice to see it being played on in a different way. n' then, crane really rocks his own outfit as well. i totally need to draw him in it more often, haha. they dress up for a halloween party for real this time. n' well, i added batman n' spiderman into the mix here, bc i kinda wish that they got to fight / interact with those versions of jon n' jack. it would have been fun for a few reasons. also this can be technically counted as shipping art, but can be viewed as your typical gloating bad guy n' helpless hero thing too. n' to clear any possible questions, i only create stuff with adult peter parker. like cartoon era/late early comics, 20 smth one. i love my spiderman being of age, where he can legally mingle with his villains, not be detained at school lol.

3. the classic four from the timeline, when the comic plots were a bit more ligthearted. aka during the times, when the deadly mercenary n' crazy scientist were robbing banks, instead of harming *torturing* people. i love dark stuff, but there is charm to how 'simple' the scarecrow's and jack's goals once were. n' i love how the scarecrow used to do the lil, dorky dances. it really suits him. n' since at least 2 or maybe, most of jack o' lanterns are southernish in their roots like jon, i had an idea of them having a country dance *in the middle of graveyard* kinda just makes sense to me, haha. batman and spiderman merely happen to find them like that. n' well, it's kinda awkward. esp bc they technically don't do anything bad. i also imagine spiderman being like 'oh, so you have one of those too'. which is mostly a ref to how both the scarecrow n' jack were called 'the reject from land of oz' by other characters. they can rejoice here.

4. the develish & undead duo!! my friend once told me to try n' watch older superhero cartoons, and at first i was like 'welp, they prob be hella boring'. but then i caved in, n' watched a couple of superfriends episodes. as result, i fell in love with their scarecrow's desingh! it was unexpected tbh. usually, i prefer jon's older, classic scarecrow look. so no straw hair, less features exposed, just a hat n' a sack on his head, but their version of him actually did it for me. i find their crane both creepy n' cute. n' i also read on wiki, that he might be undead. so that bit interested me as well. non-human jonathan crane, what a concept! him returning from the grave just to be a menace to batman. n' to accompany him, there is an undead jack o' lantern from the ghost rider comic. his corpse literally got possessed by satan. anyways, both of them raised army of zombies. both of them undead n' prob won't ever get out of their spooky suits, since i don't think that they can. n' funny enough, jack's hometown was called sleepy hollows, if i remember correctly. so they can haunt people there, make it into a truly cursed land.

5. the last one was kinda spontaneous on my part. the other day, i was looking at what kind of action figures the scarecrow n' jack have. saw one, where jon was looking kinda strange, all black n' yellow. which is how i find out that he *apparently* got yellow lantern powers in newer comics, even if it was like for 10 seconds or smth. i didn't read the issue itself, but i found the idea kinda fun, n' his design was decent enough for me to get interested n' wonder what i can do with it. then, a bit later, i saw that jack had a venom-funko figure. i don't think, that he was ever canonically venomized in any of the actual comic issues, but once again, the mere idea of it happening was enough for me to consider doing smth with it. i mean, a venom-like tongue, but its made out of fire? dang. that's kinda cool. so yeah. the yellow lantern scarecrow n' symbiote jack o' lantern being the double trouble. if they weren't enough of a mean goblin-man before, now they surely will be.

“Normalize every Percy ship with a dude that’s not Luke or Nico or gods and titans”. Buddy. Those ships are already totally normalized. Everybody’s already cool with those ships. Even if you may not see much of them, there’s also no hate for them going on.

Lukercy and Percico and god/titan ships are the ones getting all the hate for no reason. Just cause somebody likes certain ships or concepts in fiction does not mean they endorse those kind of thing in real life.

You know how kids will sometimes play pretend a very toxic family with their toys? Even the kids who have loving nice great normal families? That’s basically what shipping “problematic” ships is like. These characters are just paper dolls we’re playing with.

Just because we think these “problematic” ships and families are entertaining does not mean we want them in real life or in cannon either. We ship a lot of things that we don’t want to be cannon.

It’s just entertainment. Nothing more and nothing less. And if somebody is blurring that very thick line between fictional entertainment and real life. Then they’re too young to be on the internet in the first place.

2025 Resolutions— there’s a lot I could say.

I’ve got a few personal ones I won’t share, but there is a lot of things I want to do here and on different platforms in terms of writing, this new year.

Buckle up; to the surprise of absolutely NO ONE, this turned into a novel. Under a cut to not clog up the whole dash.

Branching out; The Emperor’s New Groove/School is a very, very, VERY small, almost nonexistent fandom. I came into this knowing that, and thinking; “well if there’s no one else in my fandom to write with, I’ll write with myself!” and I started writing drabbles and headcanons and doing everything I could to get exposure. It worked, and I had some interest in folks from other fandoms— but for the most part it was pretty lonely for a long time.

Now that I’m on a site with so many different fandoms, and characters willing to write crossovers I would sincerely love to branch out and explore the possibility of crossover storylines, not just between other Disney characters— though I would love for Kuzco to meet/have SOME kind of relationship with Disney characters, because in my head they’re all one big misfit bunch— but other fandoms of all different genres.

My old fandoms were Supernatural and Marvel and I’ve always loved coming up with reasons for my characters to meet someone else’s; so I’d love to get things rolling all across the board and meet new people.

Shipping; I don’t think I’ve made the fact that I like love shipping a secret! I post little romantic/shippy things all the time, and I am ALWAYS interested in exploring the possibilities of a ship! I tend to like it better when our characters have some kind of connection first, especially with chemistry. Slow burns are where it’s at.

But lately I’ve been incredibly cautious about replying to others ship calls/romantic starter type thingies. I’ve replied to a few and they’ve gone unnoticed or been ignored, and . . . I don’t want to push a ship on anybody. Most of the time they’re for fun because like I said I prefer for our characters to have a connection or backstory first, which I’m always open to building but these are just fun little prompts to make for silly/interesting one offs in my opinion. But! I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable, so please— if I ever send you something and you hate it, or you aren’t interested at ALL or even if you just aren’t feeling it; please just shoot me a message or an inbox and tell me to back off. I’ll understand completely.

People tend to think Kuzco is always his brash, arrogant, self absorbed and sarcastic self— and while he IS, I also have a lot of headcanons and ideas regarding WHY he acts that way and what he’s hiding behind that personality. The right kind of person with enough patience can penetrate those walls, and I’ve always believed (and shown with Malina!) that there is a softer, silly version of him for whoever manages to do that.

That all being said, I’d love to discuss the potential for connections/shipping with more folks around here — and to gain more affiliates.

Headcanons/background; I’ve always wanted to post a LOT more headcanons and background information on Kuzco/TENG. I’ve been meaning to post more, and more character studies and little things to really build Kuzco’s character up and life just got away from me.

I see people always posting these beautiful, detailed background pieces and quotes about their character, and I really want to get better at doing all of that.

I also started a little project on world building and trying to map out the Kuzconian Empire that was abandoned after some things happened that made me lose my muse for a while. I’m going to get back to that this year, and finish it. I want anyone writing with me who would need a more in depth layout of the Kingdom to have it so they have a well rounded version of both it, and Kuzco.

Writing; I posted about this recently, but I’m going to focus on quality over quantity. I’ve got a LOT of storylines going on, and I tend to rush to get them out— which can be a struggle. I came from writing on MySpace back in the day, and on sites where novellas and multi paras was the norm. Coming here and getting used to small paragraphs that are mostly dialog has been an adjustment. I struggle all the time to craft something that captures the background of what’s happening, what my character is thinking or doing, and some snappy dialog because it’s hard to do when you’re trying not to go overboard.

I’m going to worry less about ‘scaring other people away’ and more about the quality of my replies. I’ll format and make it all pretty, but I’ve always tended to like really creating a mental image of a scene, and choreographing my characters actions/feelings and thoughts. I tend to ramble, in case you haven’t noticed— so that can end up being a long thing, several paragraphs in length; but I want to get back to that.

I’m not going to start writing my replies as novellas, don’t get me wrong. I love banter above all, so for short things a short single paragraph or two is fine. But I am going to start editing my replies before I send them, and focusing on the quality of them rather than pumping them out to knock down my drafts. I want to get back into that habit.

Engagement; I want to get better at engaging with my followers. ALL of them. There’s a habit I have where I tend to see others interacting on the dash, and feeling down on myself because I’m not actively interacting with anyone at the time. Then I look at my owes and I think ‘that’s why’. Then I tell myself ‘I’ll start posting more dash stuff and all of that once I get these owes knocked down’, which . . . never really happens. And it’s a never ending cycle until I feel like I’ve been left out or forgotten, and it must be because I suck at what I’m doing here, so maybe I should stop— and so on and so forth.

I’m going to do better there. Interactions are a two way street. I followed you because I want to engage and interact with you, and I would hope the same goes for you. It’s my fault I get into my head about this stuff, and I want to knock it off right out of the gate. I’m going to start sending more memes and prompts in when I see them posted. I’m going to start sending inboxes to my followers to let them know how much I appreciate them, and their portrayal and all of the different things. I’m going to stop feeling anxious about bothering people for sending them inbox things.

I’ve been overwhelmed by love and support from you guys since I found the RPC ( for a while when I started last December, it was only me, myself and I. Then I found a few people who wrote with me, then Malina came along and it was just us until like. . . July? This year.) and I have over 30+ storylines going right now, which is incredible. But I want more. Because I’m crazy.

Followers/following; I’m going to go through my list and do a little cleaning up. It doesn’t necessarily bother me having followers who haven’t been active in months, since— they’re not really clogging up the dash or anything, you know? But if we haven’t interacted or wrote anything together at all and you’re inactive, I’m probably going to unfollow to declutter my space. Same with likes.

I’ve never been the type to be super selective about who I write with; I’ll try anything once! But I’m going to try to do better at decluttering my space and curating a safe space for myself and my followers.

Graphics; I don’t have enough icons. I need more.

I also have so many ideas for gifs and c.s. related gifs and screen shots that I’ve been wanting to do, and I’ve just been lazy. That’s going to change.

That was a LOT, I know. But I actually think that’s it (for now.) I’m sure I’ve missed something, but overall there’s some changes I want to make, some things I want to do better, and some things I need to improve on— and this year is the year I’m going to do that.

Roleplaying has always been an escape from RL for me and my stressful job, and I love being able to come here and forget about life for a little while, while I play this goofball.

Hey I hope you're not getting a lot anon hate for that ai gif of the kiss. I think people (probably antis included) are taking it way out of proportion. It's not like you abused it. It wasn't a behind the scenes footage of Miv and Charlie. I know a lot of my friends wanted to see a kiss between them even if it's a mind palace one, and given how S2 turned out, it's unlikely to ever happen in the future. And no offence to ppl who ship celedr/iel, but how is it fair that they get to (most likely) have a kiss on screen, and there was even a friggin kiss between Elrond and his mother in law (that no one asked for), and ppl are freaking out over a haladriel kiss? Anyways, I just wanted to let you know, that you are appreciated for giving us at least something. And if anyone sends you nasty stuff about it, you can block them (even if they're anonymous, it blocks their IP so they can't ever harass you again from the same device). I'm satisfied with what you gave us.

I got just one comment (at least that I took notice) asking me not to do it again because it was not ok and in fact I myself have some doubts about using ai. In my own perspective, it is similar to doing manips in sony vegas pro for my crossover videos as I have been doing for years, but I also understand the other side that views it as manipulating other people's faces for fun without their consent, even though it is the characters and not the actors themselves. Still, sharing it with the world might be the biggest problem. So for this reason I decided not to share more edits apart from those that I already shared.

But I am really happy that I made the fandom so giddy about it. That was my intention and for that I am glad. Although I know why the directors won't ever make them kiss because it would be going to far from the Tolkien story, I thought it was needed. Some ships just need that one little kiss to satisfy people and this is one of them. I am also deeply grateful for your nice comment :)

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Sooo none of them are finished haha I simply yap too much to do something short/ a one-shot.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? So I guess that depends on if you consider a "complete" ending happy. For ACOSAR, I intend to write out how I want the entirety of the ACOTAR series to end. But with ACOAAS, it's mainly relegated to Az's mating bond, but with political intrigue and a sort of marriage-of-convenience trope. In simplest terms, the ending I have planned for ACOSAR is probably the happiest by default since EVERYTHING gets resolved.

8. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes, but not often. I'm such a slow burn girly that I can't get into writing smut unless characters are sort of "ready" for that in the stage of their relationship. Like I absolutely started some Solriel smut because they're VERY close to approaching a relationship. Azrina on the other hand is...going through it lol.

9. Do you write crossovers? Yes! ACOSAR is a Critical Role/The Legend of Vox Machina crossover.

11. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Omg no but it sounds fun!

12. What is your all-time favorite ship? Ooh. It's Solriel, ngl. They're easily the best, most compatible, dynamic and sympathetic couple I've ever written. And the crazy part is I didn't even write Solara to be with Az. She was my PC in a D&D Campaing that ran for two years, and I only discovered ACOTAR at the tail end of it.

13. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? My Naruto fic lol. I wanted to rewrite the series during the pandemic and it was a great idea then, when we all had to stay home.

14. What are your writing strengths? Dialogue, character building, introspection. I can write realistic dialogue like it's nothing, and getting inside a character's head is the most fun for me! I usually approach creating a character with their backstory/psychology prioritized so I can use that to inform their behaviors and then shape their personality, ideals, etc. around that. (i.e., Solara can't stand by and do nothing when she hears children cry, because she was once a child who no one helped when she was crying/sad/afraid.)

15. What are your writing weaknesses?  TALKING HEADS. God, I get very invested in dialogue and internal monologue and emotions that I forget about what the characters are doing physically. Are they still walking? What are their hands doing? Did the person drinking tea behind them at the coffee shop leave or are they still there? If its an ACOTAR fic--what are Azriel's shadows doing from the last time I described them? Did I forget to make them move again??

16. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? So, I technically (only technically) sort of have because I use Elvish language in my fic, but I made up the language and only have a few key phrases. I made it to be inspired by a mix of Spanish and Tagalog.

17. First fandom you wrote for? Ooh either Harry Potter or Naruto, probably, I don't fully remember.

18. Favorite fic you’ve written? AHHHH this is tough! It's so difficult because I love my fics for very different reasons. ACOAAS is very political drama romance and very focused on the mate bond, on the injustices and genocide the Meliae (ashwood nymphs) faced for over several centuries. It's sort of like Bridgerton-level focus on romance and the bond but like with very real political and ethical stakes. ACOSAR is me just finishing out ACOTAR how I want to, so taking up all the unfinished plot points and tying them all together. So we get to go to the Spring Court for a bit and help Tamlin get his shit together, we spend time with Eris and try and help him kill Beron, we learn about Mor, we investigate Koschei, etc.

I think if it's judging it by effort required, then ACOSAR has to be my favorite. I love Solara so much and making her fit into the world and affect things going on while essentially going off of no plot/writing my own entirely from picking up where ACOSF (and now HOFAS) ended.

SCOTT SUMMERS

How I feel about this character: 

A lot better than I used to! Scott had a pretty gnarly go there, didn't he? Like the movies made him out to be the worst stick in the mud, and the OG animated series didn't do him many favors either, and I was too busy being in love with Nightcrawler to pay much attention to Cyclops in the comics... But X-Men 97 really repaired a LOT of the damage, having him do the things we love to see. Be messy in love, stand up to Xavier- even his dorky dad energy with Cable was endearing. On top of that, I recently did a rewatch of X-Men evolution with my friends, and I think he's pretty likable in that. Somehow I missed how cute the friendship between him and Kurt, but (like many things in the show) it grows and develops so naturally over the seasons, I found myself utterly charmed by it on this latest viewing. So, generally, I think he's better than most people think.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: 

Yeah, I think the buddy thing they developed for him and Kurt in Evo was adorable. They did make Kurt a bit sillier than most versions to balance out Scott's "straight man" personality, but after the early-episode-weirdness, when the writers found the characters' voices, I think it worked out really well. Wouldn't mind seeing more of that in other mediums, especially in the context of their different leadership styles.

My unpopular opinion about this character: 

I feel like the two main opinions about this guy are "he sucks" and "he was better when he was dating Emma Frost, and while I don't really care about who he dates so much, I guess "He doesn't suck" is unpopular enough?

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

Alright, i'm digging deep here, I'm so sorry. But in X-Factor and then again in a crossover with Excalibur, Scott and the team(s) encountered a mutant named Thomas Jones (Alchemy) who is my obscure fave. There were some ordeals with Trolls making Thomas turn things into gold and a whole lot of other drama, but Alchemy was really a good kid. Even after M-Day when most mutants lost their powers, he did his best to like... work behind the scenes. Even though he never was (and never wanted to be!!!!) a superhero. He was just a non-athletic nerd who wanted to do good work.

Then there was this big fight between the mutants and the inhumans where they released terrigen mist all over earth (lethal to mutants) and "Cyclops" convinced Alchemy to "be a good soldier" and help them out by flying up into the clouds of mist and transmute them into something harmless. Like, by touching it and changing it before it could kill him. He managed to do it, but didn't survive the process. And the storyline zoomed along so quickly, nobody really paid any mind to him. THEN it turned out it wasn't Cyclops at all (who had actually been dead for a bit) but Emma, making everyone have a group hallucination that he was alive and giving orders etc. (Something about the legacy of a person living longer than the person themselves etc etc.)

Because the comics plotline moved on SO QUICKLY there was not only not any mourning for poor Thomas, but no comeuppance (I know of) for Emma's actions. So what I would have liked is a scene where Scott read Emma the riot act for impersonating him like that AND talking to Thomas (after he was presumably brought back to life on Krakoa? But maybe not? I don't know if they resurrected mutants who died before Krakoa was founded) and apologizing for what happened. They did my boy dirty.

uhhh itd probably have to be Never Again still, i usually like to lean positive with my endings, that whole love-being-alive thing, so whenever i don't its usually because the focus is a different strong emotion that'd conflict with blatant positivity.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

oo okay also hard to decide for the same reason, I'd say the ending that feels happiest is probably from either I Can Only Hope Now (the Claudia prompt) or Now That We're Alive because both go from sad to happy and hopeful for the future. My Sunshine ends on a good note but its less "aw yippee!" and more "AAAAAAAAAAAA". I like my drabbles (under 400 words) to end pretty fluffy so far, and stuff like Mr. Crayola Henderson stays a pretty consistent light and fun so I don't think the happy end hits as hard.

oh irony my cruelest adversary. a few months ago i was happy and ignorant in my haven of only one active wip. Now there's a small handful, and unless i get possesed with the same emotions i was venting in it, i fear the short Robin-centric letter style thing won't be finished soon. its decent so far but there would be a good bit of editing trying to actually articulate the feeling in a realistic way plus fitting it to Robin's first-person writing style. I don't intend to drop it but lately it just calls to me the least, but that could change

16. What are your writing strengths?

i think its a strange mix of intuition and a technical understanding of writing that works really well for the way i think. Its very broad and basically has no rules, just a understanding of how my favorite stories work, how most writing rules are really trends that tend to work better and then you can dig deeper behind a lot of them to see the *why* behind it. that plus trusting the nagging feeling that something's off makes editing my most productive stage, i can vibe check the area and then start digging dgnxnhxngxng

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

god this changes every time i revisit this draft xumxhmxmxhm this time its probably character introspection. i love writing like a movie and having character action or dialogue or setting or symbols communicate things, but putting down what the characters thinking with similar tact is soooo harddddddd and especially in angst or emotion moments, i want my readers caught in the same thought process as the pov character, i want it to feel so real that even if they never experienced the situation the characters in and even if they know logically the characters wrong, they understand. and that unfortunately involves bypassing their stance as an outside perspective on the matter, which is uhhhhh very very hard xhmznhxhnxhm

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Depends on the intent, i think it works best when the author speaks the language themselves, and especially with stuff like asl it helps clarify the grammatic differences. I think if its a language the pov character isn't supposed to understand then "said something in x language" works better for universal immersion.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Stranger things babeyyyyyy, i actually started writing the Steve Henderson au first, tho the first drafts of chapters are very different from current ones

20. Favorite fic you've written?

MY SUNSHINE!!!!!!! i am so open about my favouritism with that one, its the most contemplative and atmospheric and emotional and its short enough that i was spending time on every word, every line to make sure it felt right and contributed to the picture i wanted. they say its more achievable (compared to long fiction) to make a perfect short story and that's what My Sunshine feels like to me, the perfect little taste of themes I'm enjoying most in writing rn, specifically with the Steve Henderson au (my second favourite fic xgnxngxgn)

Yes, because I am so happy about them, comments are just so great to read, someone takes time to react to my crap, which I love deeply, it is so great to talk with them about their points and feelings and observations, commenters are awesome.

4. What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

Is it an angsty ending, if the whole thing was angsty..? But I generally tend to search for hope..

Of those on AO3 I'd say The Flute sort of.. (rather searching some serenity in angst). But I used to have one much harsher on fanfiction.net years ago for a different fandom, even if there, too, was some very f*cked up thread of hope

5. What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

Of those actually finished, it may seem weird, but to me The Scar in His Hand was an ending that just made me happy and hopeful if that counts

Some years ago someone translated my fun one-shot (on fanfiction.net) into Russian and put it on some other server (they asked for consent). Meanwhile, I have deleted the fic for reasons, but the translation may be floating somewhere over the internet

10. Have you ever co-written a fic?

Yes, years ago we wrote two different fics with a real-life friend :) We used the strategy of dividing characters for each of us to write. It was great, but we did not finish either of them hehe

11. What's your all time favorite ship?

Ok I know what this blog looks like now, but to tell the truth, I started to ship Himerish/Yarr about half a year ago (it was quite some explosion, yes).

I shipped and ship a lot of pairs (and some threes), but I don't think I ever had like THE ONE

12. What's a WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Probably the LoTR fic of which I wrote just a part like in 2013, where I shipped Éeowyn and an OC dwarf-woman (I made her a daughter of Dwalin and she journeyed on her own (and without permission) to save her uncle Balin, bc they had no messages from Moria :(( but she got stuck in Rohan. It was pre-canon.)

13. What are your writing strengths?

Uhh.. ok self-appreciation time..

I dont know if mirroring yourself in characters is weakness, or strength, but it might bring some positives..? Like relatability hopefully..?

And I like to explore stuff.. imagining weird situations, overthinking headcanons to fill in the lore.. and such :)

14. What are your writing weaknesses?

Sometimes in search of vocabulary my head starts to boil, so language, English is not my first.. also I think i am sometimes too dramatic. And sometimes I have doubts if I am not talking about stuff that is too heavy and that I do not actually understand.

15. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?

So only by reading answers by previous posters I get that this means like other than the main language of the fic..? I never did that.. why not really, look I like LoTR and its linguistic variety, and I like all the weird sounds in Star Wars, and Im a nerd for all the sounds that real people make, so go for it people, it's fun

16. What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for but want to?

hmmmMMMmmmm... technically I've written for LoTR, but not enough.

17. What's your favorite fic you've written?

Ohhh... ok this is difficult.. I think I'll go sort of neutral and choose sentiment reasons, and will say my very fist fic, which I wrote in Czech, when I was about 14, it was just this silly fun about an OC in HP, red-headed girl, of course, and with some cool features like high tolerance to cold and alcohol

99% of the time, absolutely. I appreciate them so much, and want to express that, even if I'm a little overwhelmed and just end up saying "Thanks so much for reading!" Sometimes, however, if the comment strikes me as really negative or is trying to start some kind of debate that I don't want to get involved in, I'll just mark as read and move on.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don't really write angsty endings! (Usually just angsty middles, and third act twists...) Probably my Veronica Mars fic, We Do Not Flinch, because even though the ending is definitely hopeful, not everything is fixed and the character death is not erased.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Um, basically all of them tbh! I love and reliably provide a happy ending. I guess I'll say Each Step Closer (On Our Way Together) because the whole thing is pretty light and the last section extra so.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Intellectually I know the answer is no. But I have gotten criticism, perhaps validly, about my portrayal of Peggy's emotions in Woman Borne, and also have gotten comments which express frustration with the choices my characters make, and that does feel hurtful in certain ways.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Ehhhhh, very, very lightly. Pretty much just gauzy linguistics and minimal mention of actual body parts - soulmate smut 🤷‍♀️

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Haha, I've written a bunch of AUs that borrow from other fandoms and have a lot of fun with those, but I've only written one partially completed Buffy/Bones crossover

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I think that some of my fics have been included in the kind of automatic sweeps that republish on fake fic sites or ebook sites, but not by an actual person as far as I know.

No, although I'd be happy to give permission if someone wanted to!

Lol, no and I can't imagine I'd be an easy writing partner 😂😬

Skipping because I've found that there isn't necessarily a permanence to it for me.

I don't really have WIPs that have been posted (because I know myself and that would be too stressful for me!) but the long planned out Chase/Cameron fic, or the Veronica Mars one where Wallace was a superhero, or the various ideas I've vaguely started writing within my head.

I am my own biggest fic critic and also my own biggest fan, so they are all dear to me. I do have a particular love for my Steggy fic things left behind and the things that are ahead and all the characters and bits of the universe that come along with it.

1. I totally love your ships! And I already have read your fanfics of them and they're so good! I was wondering if like, you also ship some of the turtles with other characters (not tcest lol)

I rarely get asks I love answering them tho! And first off, thank you 😊 feel free to ask me anything you’d like I’m always happy to answer.

1. So I have a few ships. First the most obvious ones, 2012 Jonatello, Ramona and Shinirai. Then for MM I have Leopril (?) and Jonatello with my version of Casey. In 2003 it’s Capril and Karai x Chaplin . In Rise it’s Baronjitsu and Sunpril (?). And if it counts since they’re kinda OCs - Rise Saki and Tang Shen as well as Karai and Cha Lin (Rise Chaplin).

As for Leo and Usagi. I hate it, okay hate is a strong word but I heavily dislike it. I can get behind it and don’t mind it in 2003 but I have to admit the fans ruined the ship for in in Rise. I’ve seen people get mean comments because they shipped Leo with an OC or headcanoned him as something that isn’t gay. It’s started as not being my cup of tea to I really dislike it.

Miles and Mikey are a fun one. Not something I go out to to find but a nice surprise when I stumble upon it.

And for Raph. Well he gets an OC. It’s Tao (fic where they get together). I originally shipped Tao with 2012 Leo but I wanted to take then out of the context of the crossover and then it developed into them getting with Raph. Which in turn resulted in me creating more versions of Tao for different iterations. Each one is also shipped with a different turtle as of right now. I’ll reveal more about them when I get the references done. 🥰

And since you specifically asked about Rise Donnie, I don’t have anything right now but there are ideas for an OC. 🤫

2. Yes! If all goes well I’ll publish it in June this year for pride month. 🏳️‍🌈☺️

3. I try to write one chapter a week when I have a multichapter fic in the works and update weekly. I also like being 2 - 3 chapters ahead of schedule to take the pressures off my shoulders for when I can’t write for whatever reason. Also planning everything or most of it out before hand helps me too.

This is what works for me.

But I can also recommend just rambling your ideas and posting them. Maybe seeing people like the ideas you have gets you motivated.

Regardless, the most important part is that you enjoy what you’re writing and that your having fun writing. 🥰

I try to!! I am really behind in all things fic right now in life, but I'm working on making my way through and responding (even if the comments are literally months old. Sorry everyone)

Anyone feel free to call me out if this is a bold-faced lie, but I think almost every single fic I have ever written has a happy ending. I am obsessed with happy endings. Bring on the angst for 90% of the story, but it doesn't end in some degree of comfort I am OUT.

Literally any of them but personally I think it's my follow up fic to Next Door Neighbor AU used to wish i was anything to anywhere (to anyone)

I know SOME Spanish, but I know the Duolingo version of it so like, I don't trust myself to do much beyond a few phrases. Thankfully I have a few friends who speak some Spanish too so I would probably ask for help :)
